Publishing Your First Merch by Amazon Product

Hooray! You’ve just been accepted as a Merch by Amazon seller! But after uploading your design, and filling out the product creation page, you notice the “publish” button remains gray and unclickable no matter what you do.

Let me share a couple of tips that helped me.

First, make sure your image file is the correct size. Amazon only accepts files with exact dimensions:

  • for shirts, 4500 px by 5400 px (300 dpi)

  • for phone cases, 1800 px by 3200 px (300 dpi)

Next, while on the “Create products” page, click on the “Select Products” button in the top right.

Make sure ONLY one box is checked.

After making these changes, I was finally able to publish. More info can be found on Amazon’s help section here.

Additionally, when you first start, you are in Tier 10. In Tier 10, you can only publish ONE design on ONE product per day.

You can increase this one product/day limit by reaching to higher tiers. You get to higher tiers by selling your products. So, for example, to get out of Tier 10, you need to sell 10 products. You can buy your way out of tiers (buy 10 of your own products) if you want.

I hope this was helpful! If you’d like to support my work, please shop at my Etsy store!
